Don’t say RapidX, say ‘NamO Bharat’; the speed will be 180 kilometers per hour.
The RapidX, running from Delhi to Duhai Depot, will now be called ‘NamO Bharat. On October 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it.
The new ‘Regional Rapid Transit System’ (RRTS) trains will be known as ‘NamO Bharat.’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate them on Friday. The 17-kilometer priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will open for passengers on October 21, a day after its inauguration. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced on Wednesday that Modi will flag off a RapidX train connecting Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, marking the commencement of RRTS in India.
The 17-kilometer key segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is set to link Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, passing through stations in Ghaziabad, Guldhahr, and Duhai. On March 8, 2019, Prime Minister Modi initiated the development of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. The RRTS project aims to revolutionize regional connectivity in the country by constructing a state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure. Operating at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour, the RRTS system intends to offer high-speed, frequent regional travel. In the National Capital Region, eight RRTS corridors have been identified, with priority given to the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar, and Delhi-Panipat corridors in the initial phase. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, with a budget surpassing 30,000 crore rupees, is designed to link Delhi to Meerut in less than an hour, passing through Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, and Modinagar cities.
